Я смотрю форум почти "мёртвый".
И для посетителей нужна хоть какая-то инфа.
Вот что нашёл о магах.

Playing As A Magician
In the beginning of the game, as well as through out the entire game, the Magician class is quite powerful in PvE. They can kite mobs easily without getting hit, and have strong instant cast spells that do great burst damage to targets. In the beginning of the game, you'll realize you have it easy, compared to the Warrior and Thief classes, where they have to run up and hit the monster, and try to not get hit by their ridiculous long range attacks.

Soloing
Soloing as a Magician from 1-10 is fairly simple. Follow the Hero quests, and don't bother with the yellow quests, they give hardly any money, and the experience from them can be easily made up for in a party later on. The red quests are the story line quests, and you'll be doing them throughout your entire career as a Magician, so always do them, whenever you can.

SIDE NOTE: Later on, you will have to do a yellow quest for job change, but I'll talk about that when we get there.

Skill Setup
Here is a small skill tree I've put together, showing what skills to get as a Magician.

POINT BUSTER 1/5                      MP MAXIMIZATION 3/5
                |                                                         |
                |                                                         |
      AIR COMBO 3/3                         ------------------------------
                |                                       |                                      |
                |                                       |                                      |
        METEOR 5/5                            |                   MAGIC ENHANCEMENT 5/5
                                                        |                                      |
                                                        |                                      |
                                               SLOW HEAL 1/5               FOCUS 3/5
                                                        |
                                                        |
                                               SELF HEAL 4/5

Partying
You should start partying around level 10-12. Create your own party or just stand around a mission map saying that you are looking for a party (LFP) or looking for more for a party (LFM), usually people will see that and join right away. Sometimes creating your own party helps too if you don't see any around. Partying as a Magician is fairly simple, just hold down X and run around and kill the monsters with the rest of your party. Make sure that you watch your mana, and use those potions you got from the gift box earlier doing your Hero Quests (Red Quests). If you start to run low on potions, inform your party that after the mission map you need to run back and grab some more before starting again. Make sure that you stay behind the melee classes, never try to get up on the monsters and attack them, because it usually just results in either getting damaged, and needing to heal, or death.

SIDE NOTE: A stack of 100 low level potions is about 45 Silver coins if I remember correctly, maybe less.

Obtaining Level 20, and Completing the Job Change Quest
Upon reaching level 20, run to Port of the Winds as soon as possible. Once you get there, find the "Elder Magi" NPC. Talk to her and choose the yellow quest, "Battle Mage Exam". You'll have to go to Bearded Whale Coast (Back at the dock, where you came in from Silken Coast), and get 20 Emblems to give to her. Go out and collect the emblems really quick, you don't need a party, they have about a 45% drop rate, so it only takes about 5-10 minutes. After that, she'll ask you to go kill Toto, the elder of the two Axe brothers. For this, you will need a party, so head on over to Toto and start looking for an F4 party (F4 is the one you need to do to get the item.) Once you've completed the MM (Mission Map) it will say you've completed the quest. Head back to the Elder Magi and she'll give you the final task, you must kill the Scientist from earlier in your Hero Quest chain, "Ferral the Scientist". Make sure you have a full party of level 20+. You'll have to equip the gas mask you got from completing the previous quest at the Elder Magi. Enter the dungeon. Inside, you'll need all 5 keys to get to the final boss (Ferral). Along the way, the 5 keys are held by mini-bosses that you may have seen before. Make sure one person gets all 5 keys. If another person gets a key, you'll have to restart the mission and run back to the key that you were on. When you're done collecting the keys, you'll need to navigate your way to the end of the dungeon the find Ferral's Lair. Inside, Ferral is conjuring a potion for himself, when he spots you, he drinks the potion, and transforms into a viscious purple monster. Watch out for the lasers as you're killing him. Don't worry, he's not that tough. When you're finished killing Ferral, head back to the Elder Magi, she'll praise you for killing Ferral, and give you a quest reward. Talk to her again, accept the quest to change to a Battle Mage. Talk to her once more, press F1, and you'll become a Battlemage, Congratulations!
